Cambridge house fire tackled by 40 firefighters

More than 40 firefighters have been tackling a house fire in Cambridge.

The blaze in Cromwell Road broke out at about 05:40 GMT and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been extinguished by 09:25 GMT.

It said the two-storey home had been "safely evacuated" and no-one had been injured.

People are still being advised to avoid the area as fire engines remain at the scene while crews make the scene safe.

The fire service said an investigation would be taking place to establish what caused the fire.
