Four teenagers have been arrested after a video surfaced on social media showing a man lying on the ground and being kicked and spat at.

The attack took place in Bridgwater, Somerset, on Monday night and was shared on Snapchat and Twitter.

The clip appears to show a man on the ground and people taking turns to kick him in the head.

A boy and a girl, both 17, and two boys aged 16 have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody.

A fifth person believed to be linked to the incident has also been identified, the force said.

The alleged victim has spoken to officers and his injuries are "not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing" but was attending hospital as a precaution.

Det Insp Richard Horsfall, said: "We'd like to thank the members of the public who brought this video to our attention and those that have come forward with information following our appeals.

"We would please ask everybody to remove the video from social media and not to post information about any of the individuals potentially involved, so as to allow us to carry out a thorough investigation into what happened."
