Woman rescued from lorry after M8 crash in Glasgow

A woman has been rescued from a lorry after multiple vehicles crashed on the M8 in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were called to the eastbound carriageway, near junction 15 at Royston, following the collision at about 14:30 on Sunday.

All eastbound lanes were closed for a time causing queues of traffic while firefighters extracted the woman.

Her condition is unknown, however there are not thought to be any life threatening injuries.

Traffic Scotland had advised motorists to avoid the area and the scene was cleared by 17:00.

At least five cars and a flatbed lorry were involved.
