A woman killed in a car crash on the M4 in Bridgend county was a "loving, selfless and protective" mother-of-four from Swansea.

Susan Elizabeth Curtis, 50, died in the crash between junction 35 and 36 of the motorway - Pencoed to Sarn - at about 07:40 GMT on Sunday.

Her husband Leighton and children Sam, Ben, Emily and Rebecca, said: "Mam was constantly doing something for others.

"We can't begin to contemplate the void she has left," they added.

The family said Mrs Curtis was "fiercely strong and independent".

South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
