Police have appealed for witnesses following a city centre assault which left a man in critical condition in hospital.

South Wales Police was called to St Mary's Square, Swansea, at about 11:30 BST on 15 June.

Three men were assaulted, one critically, who is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales.

Two men, aged 21 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and have been released on bail.

Officers want to trace three men who were in the area at the time.

One was wearing a black leather jacket, the second a white gilet, and the third is a taxi driver.

Det Ch Insp Helen Woodward said it was "a serious assault which has left one man critically ill in hospital".

"I have a team of officers dedicated to this investigation and a number of inquiries have taken place during this last week," she added.
