Bradford City win 4-1 on penalties
Bradford goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell spared the League One side's blushes, saving two spot kicks as the Bantams beat National League Aldershot 4-1 on penalties in their FA Cup first-round replay.
O'Donnell saved the visitors' first two penalties from Matt McClure and Gabriel Osho as Eoin Doyle and Kai Bruenker put City 2-0 up.
Lewis O'Brien got Bradford's third and Jack Payne the winner after Adam McDonnell had converted for Aldershot.
The Bantams will travel to League One rivals Peterborough United in the second round.
George Fowler's 101st-minute own goal looked to have broken Aldershot's hearts as the defender turned in Bruenker's powerfully hit ball across goal.
But the Shots levelled nine minutes later as the non-league side took advantage of Danny Devine's poor clearance and fed Luke Howell whose goal took the game to penalties.
The Bantams almost earned victory in the final five minutes of extra time when Shots keeper Will Mannion spilled Lewis O'Brien's shot, but Fowler blasted it clear.
Bradford twice had the ball in the Aldershot net but Doyle's efforts were both ruled out for offside. His first attempt seven minutes into the second half came at the back post from an O'Brien cross and the second was four minutes into extra time when he converted George Miller's pass.
