Cedric Soares: Southampton defender joins Inter Milan on loan

You're all slating saints without having any idea about the club. Cedric only has 18 months on his contract, and he's been below par for over a year. Opposition constantly target him at the back post because he's weak at defending. We have 2 young, promising right backs coming through. Cedric was also on about 60k a week, so good to get him off the wage bill as he is no longer first choice. COYR!!

Correct, Inter are under no obligation to buy; no lose risk on their part.

His agent has agitated &pressed for the move. Hasenhuttl wants players committed to Saints & believes in the academy replacements.

I can only assume all these posts claiming Soares is on of Saints best players are based on Football Manager (other football related computer simulation games are available) statistics and not real life performances.

Can't cross, cant defend and gets targeted at the back post. Cost points in the past and will do in the future. Those who think it's a bad deal clearly don't watch much footy, plenty of better youngsters coming through.

He was pushing for a move at the end of last season. I never rated him as "one of our best" not a great defender, not a great winger and not much pace. He was even kept out of the first 11 by Cuco Martina. Valery has stepped up and has more about him. Not really a big loss for me and a sensible move for him.

Better let the Inter fans on the Curva Nord know to watch out for his wayward crosses...

I bet Southampton can't believe their luck to get him off the books and perhaps make a few Bob in the process.

No great loss as he was never quite up to it hence he's off to Italy and not Merseyside! The new manager was brought in at a good time so he could see the squad and no panic January buys. The Saints won't be relegated and I've every confidence the manager has a plan - mind you he'll be off to Spurs if he does OK when their man goes off to Man Utd!! No surprise to see a few comments from people who think they know how every single club should be run. You don't know. Fact is Cedrics been pretty dire, when he's not been 'injured' for a while now and very few Saints fans are sad to see him go. Sorry if that goes against any persons wild stab in the dark as to what might be happening.

It amazes me when people comment on saints when they know nothing about the club,in a relegation situation you need fighters, scrappers, and I can tell you his heart ain't in it,he has been poor all season ,too small, often gets bullied and cant defend,for those of you that know nothing bout saints we have a very good replacement from our academy in tan valery,10 mill with 1 yr left is a good deal

He's not one of our best players Tomski. Although I agree fee should be higher and it should be obligatory to sign him as they may realise that he can't cross for shite by june

From what I see there was a lot of in-balance within the squad. So you had some high earners who were signed by Pelligrino. At the moment RH is finding the players in the squad (and youth team) to fit into the system. We have let 4 players go this window. So a massive reduction in the wage bill. I have faith in RH judgement, hopefully transfer activity soon. But not panic buying unlike others.

Good luck Ceders, you showed intermittent flourishes and have got a Euro's medal but not enough pace or weight for The Prem. Saints players need to multi-task and you can't play out of position.
