  1. Post update

We're going to leave it there - take a look at the multi-talented Stephan Shemilt's match report from Mumbai, and also there's some worrying news from India that their World Cup match with Pakistan may be in doubt.

I hope you'll follow the men's ODI from Barbados this afternoon - enjoy a huge weekend of sport on the BBC but allow yourself an early night on Sunday so you can join us for the next women's game on Monday morning. Thanks for your company.

And thanks for some positive vibes from some of you out there:

Steve Dickson: Great to listen to @bbctms again! Just a shame about the result, England got bogged down and couldn't accelerate the scoring. Hopefully a better performance with the bat in the next game.

rjfingilby:@bbctms sending a team out to India and providing full coverage of the women's cricket (3am GMT start) is absolutely glorious and highlights everything positive about the way cricket's going.

    Glad you enjoyed listening.

  3. Later today... and next week

There's not much respite for you avid cricket fans today - as after a leisurely lunch, you can follow the next men's ODI between West Indies and England which starts in Barbados at 15:00 GMT. We'll have the usual full live text service.

The women's series continues in Mumbai on Monday with the second ODI - afraid it's another 03:30 GMT start.

hypocaust: Biggest ODI collapse suffered by/inflicted on ENG women from the fall of the 4th wicket:

    • 7/7 v AUS, 1985
    • 7/12 v IRE, 2001
    • 7/17 v IND, 2003
    • 7/17 v WI, 2016
    • 7/21 v NZ, 2000
    • 7/22 v IND 1993
    • 7/25 v IND 2002
    • 7/25 v IND today
    • 7/28 v IND 2002
  5. Post update

As Isabelle suggests, England will have a lot to work on - and think about before their next game. While they bowled fairly well, particularly the two spinners, they'll be concerned about not taking any wickets with the new ball.

And although there was a small element of fortune about the run-out of Nat Sciver which proved to be the turning point of the England innings, I'm sure with the benefit of hindsight that some other decisions, and shot selections, were not ideal in the circumstances.

This is an England side which has twice beaten India on the big occasion in the last couple of years - but can they turn it around in time to pick up some ICC Championship points by winning at least one of the remaining games?

Former England captain Charlotte Edwards: Thought we had it in the bag at 113-3...clearly not!!

    Isabelle Westbury

Former Middlesex captain on BBC Test Match Special

A lot of work needs to be done on the batting - they've got the tools, I think it's just the mindset.

India will be full of confidence after winning without Harmanpreet Kaur, England will feel their backs are against the wall.

    Isabelle Westbury

Former Middlesex captain on BBC Test Match Special

I still think England are the stronger side. They have the tools in the shed, it's about the execution - we have to factor in the foreign conditions, the heat, the wicket, the type of bowling and the fact they're several thousand miles from home.

  11. Post update

    Snehal Pradhan

Ex-India seamer on BBC Test Match Special

Once India had 200 on the board they had something to bowl at. I think England misread the conditions as they opted to bowl first but the ball swung just as much in the second innings, and they didn't take any wickets with the new ball.

    Isabelle Westbury

Former Middlesex captain on BBC Test Match Special

If you look at the scorecard after that partnership of Knight and Sciver, they've lost the last seven wickets for 25 runs - and the last four for one.

Hartley b Bisht 0 (Eng 136 all out)

All over! Hartley finally has an international batting average - but it's been quite a sorry batting display by England.

  15. Eng 136-9

Alex Hartley - who's never been dismissed in international cricket - to face the hat-trick ball. She's solid in defence!

  16. Post update

    Phil Long

    TMS statistician

Of the last 99 balls that have been bowled, Heather Knight - who's watched this carnage from the other end - has only faced 27 of them.

  17. WICKET

    Ecclestone b Bisht 0 (Eng 136-9)

Sophie Ecclestone is bowled first ball!

  18. Post update

    Isabelle Westbury

Former Middlesex captain on BBC Test Match Special

India are cruising towards a win here - a good start to the series for them, coming off the back of a series win in New Zealand.

  19. WICKET

    Shrubsole c & b Bisht 0 (Eng 136-8)

This is becoming a procession - Shrubsole gifts Bisht a return catch.
