  1. Farewell

    FT: Preston 0-0 Derby

ukas Nmecha of Preston North End takes on George Evans of Derby County

Well that was an entertaining game!

Harry Wilson once again looks like quite the talent for Derby County while Preston looked dangerous in a frantic second half.

No goals, mind. A pity really, as that game almost had it all. A great reminder for how great the second tier is.

We'll be back tomorrow with another packed Saturday of fun in the English Football League.

For now, thank you for joining us.

  2. 'We were the better team'

    FT: Preston 0-0 Derby

Preston North End striker Sean Maguire told Sky Sports:

"Overall we were the better team. We had the better chances but it's a point on the board and it's four unbeaten in the league and the only way is up.

"We had a tough period around Christmas with about 11 out injured.

"We've got the spine of the team back now but it's a point on the board and we've got another week to regroup before a big derby against Bolton."

  3. 'We'll take the clean sheet'

    FT: Preston 0-0 Derby

Derby County defender Richard Keogh told Sky Sports:

"Fair play to Preston, we knew they were a good team. Their league position is false because they're on a good run.

"We had to dig in, Kelle Roos made a good few saves but we'll take the clean sheet and move on.

"We're in decent form ourselves but to come to a place like this, it is what it is. You have to deal with injuries in this league and show different sides to your game which I think we did tonight."

  4. FULL-TIME

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Preston manager Alex Neil and Derby boss Frank Lampard

How did this have no goals in it?!

All over at Deepdale and it's honours even.

  5. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Lukas Nmecha wins a corner for Preston late on in this game.

Alan Browne thumps it into the box and Derby concede another corner, this time at the other end.

It's delivered poorly and Derby break upfield on the counter. Scott Malone goes in to try and win a high deflected ball from Preston keeper Declan Rudd and is somehow yellow carded in the process.

    Two minutes additional time.

  6. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

If you're just joining us, this has been a pretty darn entertaining game, scoreline aside.

Preston somehow haven't managed to make a barrage of chances on the Derby goal stick while the visitors haven't really settled well into the second half.

We're entering the closing stages of this match now. Can either side steal a late winner?

  7. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Preston are continuing to turn the screw and Brad Potts latches onto a loose ball as he gallops towards the Derby goal.

However, he becomes entangled in a Derby defender and the ball rolls into the hands of Rams keeper Kelle Roos.

  8. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Ben Pearson picks up the ball on the edge of the Derby box and attempts to work it onto his left foot but in the process he basically kicks it into the path of Sean Maguire who fires a curled effort from outside the box.

Fortunately for the visitors, Kelle Roos scoops it up.

Meanwhile, Tom Barkuizen comes on for Paul Gallagher as the hosts make another change as we approach the final stages of this match.

  9. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

A rare Derby foray into the Preston half sees them work it into the box and Duane Holmes has several changes to blast it into the net but chooses to try and beat defender after defender instead.

Eventually his low attempt is well blocked away at the last moment.

    Derby County"s Duane Holmes shoots
  10. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Paul Gallagher tries what could have been a tremendous goal inside the Derby box.

He controls and brings down a cross with his right foot before turning to curl an effort towards the top left corner of the goal with his left foot.

However, it sails wide of the mark.

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Another change being made by Derby, this time as David Nugent comes off for Andre Wisdom.

A striker coming off for a defender. Interesting decision from Rams boss Frank Lampard.

Nugent, who previously had a spell with Preston and won a senior England cap while at the club, is warmly applauded off the pitch by both sets of fans.

  12. SUBSTITUTION

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Preston are all fired up after that and Derby look a bit all over the place.

The hosts work another cross into the box, this time from the right wing, and Derby keeper Kelle Roos punches it away into the path of Brad Potts yet again who fires into a mass of bodies once more and sees his shot deflected away.

Meanwhile, Mason Bennett comes on for Derby's Martyn Waghorn and the hosts replace Jayden Stockley with Lukas Nmecha.

  13. 'Derby living dangerously'

    Preston 0-0 Derby

    Craig Ramage

Former Derby midfielder on BBC Radio Derby

"Derby are really struggling to contain Preston at the moment. They are living dangerously. Look like they don't have energy and can't get anywhere near Preston."

Tom Lawrence of Derby County and Darnell Fisher of Preston North End
  14. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Wow, how to describe this one.

A Preston ball flies into the Derby box and Paul Gallagher tries an effort at the far post which is parried away by the legs of Kelle Roos who deflects it into the path of Brad Potts who is unmarked but fires into a mass of Derby defenders.

    Derby hanging on here.

  15. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Richard Keogh literally runs circles around Jayden Stockley in the build up to a Preston corner then, as soon as it's taken, Stockley runs in the opposite direction leaving Keogh stranded.

Stockley then tries to work on to a rebounded header in his direction at the near post but it's dealt with by the visitors.

  16. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Big effort from the hosts yet again, as they've eased into this second half.

Brad Potts turns to beat his marker and unleashes a shot from an angle just outside the Derby 18-yard line that sails over the post and wide.

  17. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Ben Pearson plays through Darnell Fisher into acres of space in the Derby box but the Preston right-back dinks a low shot straight into the path of Rams keeper Kelle Roos.

The second half has picked up right where the first half left off!

  18. Post update

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Harry Wilson of Derby County is fouled by Ben Pearson of Preston North End

Ben Pearson puts an arm in on Harry Wilson at the touchline, sending the Derby man towards the snow on the sidelines.

The Preston midfielder is already on a yellow card but he gets away with this challenge this time, but he does give a sheepish look towards referee Darren Bond.

  19. KICK-OFF

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Derby County's Tom Lawrence (right) gets past Preston North End's Ben Pearson

Ding ding! Let's get it onnnnnnnn!

Round two in this cracking encounter between two Championship sides really going at it.

Derby, in a nice little all-dark blue number, get the second half going.

  20. Meanwhile in America..

    HT: Preston 0-0 Derby

    Kristaps Porzingis

Were you a bit miffed with your club's business on football's transfer deadline day or did your team miss out on some much-needed additions to the squad in the notoriously cutthroat transfer market?

Well, spare a thought for the New York Knicks' beleaguered basketball fans.

After years of underachieving, the Knicks finally drafted a once-in-a-generation talent in Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis.

However, without warning, the franchise traded him to the Dallas Mavericks yesterday - a team not that much better than the Knicks.

Cue a huge social media shock to rival that of football's lively fanbase.

You can read more about it here.
