  1. That's all folks!

    Reading

Thanks for being with us this lunchtime for all the action.

Without doubt the afternoon belongs to George Puscas for his two first-half goals in a Reading shirt.

We'll be back with more EFL action on Tuesday with a full midweek programme.

    Until then...

  3. Post update

    FT: Reading 3-0 Cardiff

    Ady Williams

Sport presenter and former Reading captain on BBC Radio Berkshire

I've not said this often against a Neil Warnock side but we bullied them.

Lucas Joao bullied the likes of Aden Flint and Sean Morrison, an absolutely deserved 3-0 victory.

Jose Gomes could've won man of the match for his team selection.

  4. FULL-TIME REACTION

    FT: Reading 3-0 Cardiff

    Mick Gooding

Ex-Reading player/manager on BBC Radio Berkshire

Ovie Ejaria could get in any Championship team, he's a terrific signing.

  5. FULL-TIME REACTION

    FT: Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    Swift

Reading midfielder John Swift on Sky Sports:

"He (George Puscas) has settled in really well and caused defenders huge problems, tucking his chances away.

"It's been a great performance. I think there's so many good teams in the league and any one can go on a run and push up the table.

"We've taken our chances today and come away with our first three points which is massive."

  6. FULL-TIME REACTION

    FT: Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    Puscas

Man of the match George Puscas on Sky Sports:

"I'm happy to get the win first of all as it was the first three points in the league this season and it's great for the fans.

"I was unlucky not to finish the third chance for the hat-trick, but I'll just have to push on and try and do it for the next game.

"I want to improve myself here and in this league, so I know I have to work hard."

  7. Post update

    FT: Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    George Puscas

What a way to get your first win of the season and what an introduction to English football this man has had.

Reading invested big money in Romania international striker George Puscas when they bought him for Inter Milan for £8m.

He's scored three goals in three games and if he scores many more like his superb solo effort for his first today that will look like an absolute snip.

  8. FULL-TIME

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    Jose Manuel Gomes

Thumbs up from Reading boss Jose Gomes.

Just what he needed from his side after two defeats in their first two games.

Reading dominant in that one - Cardiff all over the place.

  9. INJURY TIME

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

We had three minutes added on for stoppages incidentally just before that penalty.

  10. MISSED PENALTY - Yakou Meite (Reading)

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    Saved by Alex Smithies!

Yakou Meite denied from 12 yards. Good save away to Smithies' left two-handed.

  11. PENALTY TO READING

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

Oh no - it could get worse for Cardiff.

Andy Yiadom tripped in the box by former Reading man Sean Morrison and the referee points to the spot....

  12. 'Goals change games'

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff

    Mick Gooding

Ex-Reading player/manager on BBC Radio Berkshire

Fantastic finish by John Swift, broke from the halfway line and great finish past the keeper.

Reading have played fantastically well since their first goal, that's what happens, goals change games.

  13. Post update

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

Joe Ralls free-kick is easily saved by Rafael low down.

He had little room to make up for that one in fairness as Ralls tried to curl it around the wall.

  14. SUBSTITUTION

    Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

Two changes in fact have been made by Reading either side of that John Swift goal.

George Puscas made way for Lucas Boye just before it and now Ovie Ejaria is replaced by Andy Rinomhota.

  15. GOAL: Reading 3-0 Cardiff City

    John Swift

    Reading

No mistake this time from Reading - John Swift gets the third goal for the hosts!

On the break again they hit Cardiff, who are all over the place at the back, and Swift has a clear run and shot down the right, picking his place superbly low into the back of the net.

A dominant display all round from the hosts.

  16. Post update

    Reading 2-0 Cardiff City

    What a miss!

That should've been George Puscas' hat-trick for sure.

Reading break three-on-one from that Cardiff corner and "Puscas must score..." to steal a well-known commentary phrase from yesteryear...

Somehow he doesn't as he smashes his effort from 15 yards out just wide of the right post!

  17. Post update

    Reading 2-0 Cardiff City

Callum Paterson long throw again for Cardiff and the ball breaks to Joe Ralls outside the box for the shot which is well saved by Rafael through a crowd of bodies.

    Pushed away for a corner.

  18. SUBSTITUTION

    Reading 2-0 Cardiff City

Change for Reading sees Lucas Joao replaced by Yakou Meite in attack.

  19. Post update

    Reading 2-0 Cardiff City

One thing Cardiff can cling to is on their last Championship visit to Reading in January 2018, they came back from 2-0 behind to draw 2-2 with two goals in the last eight minutes.

Can they? Rafael has to punch a dangerous Joe Ralls cross clear from his six-yard box.

  20. Post update

    Reading 2-0 Cardiff City

Last 15 minutes on the way and Cardiff still to land any punches on Reading to borrow a boxing cliche.

TV cameras cut to Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi in the stands who is watching on this one.

He must be keen as neither of these two sides are due to play Forest in the next few weeks!
