Premiership: Bath 28-13 Worcester Warriors

Bath ended a run of seven games without victory with a comfortable Premiership win over Worcester Warriors.

The hosts led 16-10 at half-time, with Freddie Burns landing three penalties after Semesa Rokoduguni and Ryan Mills traded scores.

Bath, who had not won since September, stretched their advantage to 13 points through Tom Ellis' charge-down try.

Duncan Weir's boot kept Warriors in contention, but Elliott Stooke crossed late on to confirm Bath's victory.

The result lifted the Blue, Black and Whites above Worcester and Leicester Tigers into the European Champions Cup places after seven rounds of fixtures.

Todd Blackadder's side had not won since beating Northampton Saints nearly two months ago, but were good value against a Warriors outfit who had thrashed Bath's rivals Bristol Bears 52-7 in their last league outing.

Both teams were missing players on England duty, with Worcester's Ted Hill a surprise inclusion on the bench to face Japan and Joe Cokanasiga making his international debut.

In Cokanasiga's absence, fellow wing Rokoduguni scored only his second Premiership try of the season midway through the first half put them 10 points in front at The Rec.

Mills rounded off a brilliant team move to get Warriors on the board before half-time and Weir kicked two penalties to give them a chance of at least a losing bonus point, before Stooke's touchdown with two minutes left put the game beyond them.

"We were obviously under a little bit of pressure leading up to this game.

"We wanted a win and we want to be a top-four team. We looked a bit rusty early on but we built into the game and created some really good opportunities.

"I'm really pleased. It was a decisive step in the right direction. It also highlighted that the Premiership Rugby Cup served us really well in that we've given guys opportunities and game time, as we saw when Ruaridh McConnochie came on and with Josh Bayliss stepping up.

"All in all, it was a pretty good all-round performance. Our scrum was outstanding and our line-out was really good."

Worcester Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons:

"Simply, we had no field position and no possession. We spent the whole time tackling and on the back foot.

"You've got to give credit to your opposition. They thoroughly deserved their win. The scoreline was a fair reflection of the play.

"I feel we do have a good set-piece. It's just that today it didn't operate.

"The positive is that we kept at it defensively. We never threw in the towel. That was commendable."
