The main road from Belfast to Bangor has been reopened after a serious road traffic collision this evening.

Motorists were advised that the A2 Bangor to Belfast road was closed at the Devil's Elbow, Seahill and that they should seek alternative routes.

Both lanes heading into Bangor were closed, and one lane heading toward Belfast was shut but have since reopened.

Three people have been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said at the time: "We received a call about a four vehicle RTC at 18:36pm.

"Two rapid response paramedics and three emergency crews have been dispatched to the scene."
