Part of the cordon in Belfast city centre is to be reduced next week, the council has said.

It is the second reduction to the cordon this year.

In February, a connecting 'tunnel' brought back access between Fountain Street and Castle Street.

On Tuesday, the council said that the 'footpath from the corner of Zara (on Donegall Place) to the corner of Fountain Street' will be reopened.

It added: "Abacus Beads, whose owner relocated to alternative premises in the wake of the fire, will also reopen on Tuesday."

The fire at the Primark building in August last year devastated the city centre, forcing numerous businesses to close and causing a large drop in footfall.
