A £320,000 road resurfacing scheme for South Belfast will start tomorrow.

The scheme will stretch from the Cadogan Park to Broomhill Close area of the Malone Road and work will be carried out under a combination of lane and road closures.

Overnight road closures will be in operation for five nights from Monday, March 25 until Saturday, March 30 between the hours of 10pm to 6am.

Further road closures will also be required between 6am and 8pm on Sunday March 31 and again on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7.

Diversions will be in place but residents will maintain access to their properties.

The scheme is expected to be completed by April 7.

A spokesperson for the Department for Infrastructure said: "The work has been carefully programmed to minimise disruption to residents and road users, however, some delays can be expected.

'Road users are asked to follow the signed diversionary routes and comply with temporary traffic management in place when travelling through, or in the vicinity of the works.

'Completion of the scheme by 7 April will be dependent on progress of the work and on favourable weather conditions, however, the Department will keep the public informed of any change to the completion date."
