The Health Minister has published a guide today to the Coronavirus restrictions in Northern Ireland.

The purpose of this guidance is to provide clear information and advice for the public on the restrictions in law on movement and activities during the pandemic.

It also outlines what you, your business, your place of worship or your organisation can and should do to limit the spread of Covid-19.

This version reflects the Regulations as they stand on June 5, 2020 and will be updated in the week commencing June 8, 2020.

Health Minister Robin Swann said good progress has been made in Northern Ireland in reducing the spread of infection.

He added: "This has been achieved largely by our community abiding by the restrictions and following the public health advice on social distancing and good hand and respiratory hygiene.

“We still have some way to go but people’s willingness to do the right thing gives me confidence that we will keep moving in the right direction to bring the epidemic under control.

“The restrictions that have been imposed have affected every aspect of people’s lives and they are complex. Strangely enough, each time we remove restrictions, the picture gets more intricate and more nuanced.

“People are worried. They want to keep safe, protect others and get their lives back. They want to live as freely as possible within the constraints that have been imposed."

The Health Minister added it is important that people can easily access this plain-English guide to what they are not permitted to do, and 'what the Regulations expressly allow them to do' in once place.

Within the guide, it says the Executive 'is seeking to move quickly to relax the restrictions provided it is safe to do so'.

It continues: "Regulations are reviewed every three weeks and each restriction will be lifted once it is no longer necessary.

"This guidance will change frequently to reflect changes in the regulations."
