Five well-known Belfast bars and social spaces have come together in an effort to save our iconic music venues in the city.

The 'Save Our Venues' campaign is part of a national initiative launched by the Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of 100s of independent music venues.

Speaking about the initiative, Black Box director Rachael Campbell Palmer said that Belfast venues had formed a united message on this issue.

"We know that, while its hard to ask people for financial support at such a difficult time, we wanted to show that venues are united in their message that we do need help. In Belfast, you have the Black Box,  the 343The American BarVoodoo  and the  Oh Yeah Centre. We’re all standing together saying, ‘We need support to get through this'.

"We’re all going to have to adapt to be able to open again, but in the meantime, there’s standing costs that we’re all struggling to cover, and we need a little help with that. Every venue has their own different target to reach, and if you reach that, then anything excess goes into the pot to help other venues."
