There's a one-day food and drink market coming to Co Down.

The Sundown Market is returning to Bangor on Saturday, March 16 , after it was postponed in December due to bad weather.

Funded by Ards and North Down Borough Council and organised by Open House Festival, this vibrant celebration of local artisan food and drink has become one of the town’s most popular outdoor free events, attracting up to 14,000 visitors.

From 3pm in the afternoon through to 9pm in the evening, Project 24 on Queen’s Parade will be infused with the sights, smells and sounds now associated with the market.

Artisan producers and gourmet street food stalls from all over Northern Ireland will join some Bangor eateries to offer an array of foodie treats. Wolf & Devour, who were named as one of the runners-up in the Observer Food Awards 2018 Cheap Eats category, will be at the market for the first time with their famous gourmet burgers.

The Big Red Bus makes a welcome return, and one of Bangor’s newest foodie businesses, Bumble & Goose, will be selling their delicious home bakes, including gin cupcakes.

The popular craft beer tent returns with a range of locally brewed beers, gins and cocktails, and there’ll be a pop-up prosecco van.

Live entertainment on the Sundown Stage will include the hugely popular Clay Pigeons, Open House Festival Choir and the ever-expanding Bangor Uke Jam, plus a vinyl DJ set from John Mackenzie.

Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Richard Smart , said: "It is fantastic to welcome Sundown Market back to Project 24.  There will be a variety of stalls offering artisan goodies, plenty of food and drink and live performances from local talent. The Market offers great fun for all the family and the opportunity to make a day of it in Bangor."
