A cute Yorkshire Terrier was rescued from a cannabis farm in Wolverhampton - after police nearly used Tasers on him.

The abandoned pet was found with with severe injuries on his paws caused by shards of broken glass.

Toying with the environment in which he was found, officers have nicknamed the pooch Don Pablo, after the infamous Columbian drug lord, Pablo Escobar.

Force response Tweeted:  "Thank you, almost was a different story entirely. He was lurking in the dark when we were looking for violent thugs and nearly got Tasered. Scared us half to death.

"Then when the torch light lit him up we were like 'Awwww'."

The force tweeted: "So, last night (February 21) A unit Wolverhampton rescued this little beauty from a Cannabis Factory, his poor feet cut to shreds from broken glass.

"We named him Don Pablo for the time being. He is now safe with the vets."

The news of the rescue comes after Force Response tweeted about a drugs bust on the same night - however, it is not clear if the two are linked.
