A woman was cut free by firefighters after a horror two-car smash hurt four in Wolverhampton.

Medics, fire crews and police were deployed to Bridgnorth Road following the shocking crash at around 3.17pm on Friday, August 16.

The driver - who had to be cut free - was trapped for around 45 minutes, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Three other patients, two men and a woman, were treated at the scene.

All four were taken to New Cross Hospital, with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service: “We were called to Bridgnorth Road, Wolverhampton, to reports of a two-car collision.

“Three ambulances, a senior paramedic officer and a paramedic officer attended.

“Four patients were found at the scene.

“One woman, the driver, was trapped due to damage rather than injuries.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service called for drivers to ‘slowdown in wet condition’.
