Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car

A woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car.

The accident happened on Lichfield Road in Wolverhampton just after 9am this morning, Saturday June 15.

The woman, believed to be in her 80s, was taken to hospital.

The extent of her injuries are not yet clear. The car driver was helping police with their enquiries.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to Lichfield Road, Wolverhampton just after 9am this morning (15 June) to reports of a collision involving a woman and a car.

"The woman, believed to be in her 80s, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"The extent of her injuries is not yet clear.

"The driver is assisting police with their enquiries."
