Bus timetables across Birmingham will be reduced and changed over the Christmas period.

The amended timetables will run from Monday December 24 to Saturday January 5.

It will be best to check the National Express West Midlands website for full timetables - see below.

Here's a summary of how the bus services will be affected over Christmas and New Year.

Christmas Eve to Boxing Day

Christmas Eve - Monday 24th December - In most cases special timetables similar to a Saturday service will run. Last buses will run between 10pm - 11pm.

Christmas Day - Tuesday 25th December - There will be no services on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day - Wednesday 26th December - Most services will start from around 7am and then a Sunday level of service will run until around 6pm. Some busy routes will run until late evening.

Some services will not run on Boxing Day. These include:

35 (Walsall to Aldridge)

62 (Wolverhampton to Compton)

77 (Walsall to Sutton Coldfield)

96 (Kingstanding to Chelmsley Wood)

Days between Christmas and New Year

Thursday 27th and Friday 28th December - Special timetables similar to a Saturday service will run. Extra early morning and evening journeys may run on some routes. During the daytime some routes may not run as often as normal.

Saturday 29th December - Special Saturday timetables will run in most cases. Early and late buses will run as normal. During the daytime some routes may not run as often as normal.

Sunday 30th December - A normal Sunday service will run across all routes.

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

New Year’s Eve - Monday 31st December - Special timetables similar to a Saturday service will run in most cases. Extra early morning and evening journeys may run on some routes. During the daytime some routes may not run as often as normal.

New Year’s Day - Tuesday 1st January 2019 - Special timetables similar to a Sunday service will run until around 6pm. Some busy routes will run until late evening.

January services

Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th January - Special weekday timetables will run in some cases. During the daytime some routes may not run as often as normal.

Saturday 5th January - Normal service will resume in most cases, with some routes running special Saturday timetables.
