Police and paramedics are responding to an incident in Birmingham city centre this afternoon.

Patrol cars and ambulances were pictured outside the Minories shopping centre, off Bull Street.

And passersby told BirminghamLive a police cordon was in place near the well-known Square Peg pub in Corporation Street.

Man collapsed in the street

We’ve now had full details of the incident from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

It was a medical emergency outside Priory Court.

A passing nurse gave CPR after a man collapsed in the street.

Several resources were sent to the scene and the man was taken by ambulance on blue lights to City Hospital.

His condition was not known
