Birmingham City’s date with the EFL disciplinary commission is due before the end of February.

It’s long overdue too, it’s been seven months since the governing body charged the club for breaching their Profitability & Sustainability regulations.

There are many reports Blues could be hit with a points deduction, with some claiming the league have asked the three-strong commission to dock the club as many as 12 points.

Garry Monk has been understandably reticent speculate about what might happen but in his pre-Blackburn press conference he called for ‘normality’ to be restored.

And our Blues writer Brian Dick explained why as irksome as any points penalty would be - it’d be cruel to see the team pushed down the table having worked so hard to avoid the mistakes of the last two seasons, there is a bigger concern.
