Torino head coach Walter Mazzarri has told his players if they are at their best, they will beat Wolverhampton Wanderers over two legs.

The Serie A side only qualified for the Europa League after their domestic rivals Milan were expelled from the tournament over financial irregularites.

They overcame Belarussian side Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the third round of qualifying, to set up a play-off tie with Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

Mazzarri, who had a spell in England with Watford, has revealed he has been scouting Wolves ahead of the first leg in Turin, taking on board the exciting draw with Manchester United on Monday.

Wolves went one down to United at Molineux, before roaring back in the second half to earn a share of the spoils. And it was a performance Mazzarri believes showed two sides to Nuno's men.

"I studied Wolverhampton for a long time, not only in the last game against Manchester United, in which we saw the two faces of this team," he told Gazzetta dello Sport .

“In the second half they attacked their opponents, in the first half they were more staid and maneuvering. We will have to see their coach what kind of tactics he will want to adopt tomorrow but it is certain that in the return they will be even more formidable."

It is expected to be a capacity Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Thursday night and Mazzarri is hoping the passionate home support can spur them on against Wolves.

"My Torino has been growing exponentially for a year now. So I expect another leap forward in this very important circumstance. The team knows what to do and knows what their opponents can do. I also hope in a big push from the stands.

“Last year we had other great value opponents in our league and we managed to overcome them," he added. "So we'll make it I remain confident. Everything depends on my players: if we can express ourselves on our best levels.”
