Welcome to BirminghamLive's coverage of all things Birmingham City .

We've got an interview with Che Adams - to go alongside plenty of derby coverage.

But first let's start by catching up with an old friend, pulling up trees north of the border.

Killi'n it

Of the two Birmingham City forwards that took the plunge and made the temporary move to Scotland this summer, it’s fair to say that Greg Stewart is having a better time of it than his teammate Nicolai Brock-Madsen.

Stewart, originally signed from Dundee in 2016 by Gary Rowett, is back in his home country after being considered surplus to requirements by Garry Monk.

His form, though, will at least please those back at his parent club and offers hope yet that Stewart may still have some sort of part to play in the future at B9.

We take a look at the 28-year-old’s first third of the new campaign.

Prediction time

The Second City derby is drawing ever closer and it's time for our writers to hop off the fence and have their say.

Aston Villa and Birmingham City will fight out the 126th Second City derby at Villa Park on Sunday with bragging rights and a higher Championship position at stake.

The two Second City clubs are neck and neck in the table with 24 points from their opening 17 matches - but what will happen once the clock strikes noon on Sunday?

Our writers Brian Dick (BD), Joseph Chapman (JC), Kieran Doody (KD), Gregg Evans (GE), Mat Kendrick (MK), Alex Dicken (AD) and Shane Ireland (SI) all give their thoughts.

Danger men

Birmingham City fans are waiting on confirmation of the availability of a number of important players ahead of the trip to Aston Villa this weekend.

It plans to be an interesting afternoon at Villa Park; both sides have experienced similar results up till now this season and they sit side by side in the middle of the Championship table.

But if Blues and Garry Monk are to have the last laugh on Sunday, in the latest instalment of the Second City derby, who is the key man - or men that will hurt Villa in their own backyard?

We asked the supporters of their opinion on the matter - here is how they responded.

This time we Adam and Eve it

Che Adams believes a different Birmingham City will turn up at Villa Park this weekend to the one which has struggled in recent visits.

Blues have not won at the venue since December 2004 when Clinton Morrison and David Dunn gave Steve Bruce’s team a 2-1 victory.

Indeed in their most recent trip in February - they barely threatened the hosts, lost 2-0 and ended up with ten men as Cheikh Ndoye was sent off late on.

Blues survived relegation on the final day of that season, while Villa went on to the play-off final.

But Adams says things have changed as Garry Monk’s team arrive with just one defeat in their last 13 matches.

Taking Stock

Leeds United could return for Birmingham City outcast David Stockdale in January.

Stockdale is free to leave Blues and Leeds showed interest in signing him during the summer before being put off by his St Andrew’s salary.

Stockdale is understood to be among Blues’ highest earners which is part of the reason why manager Garry Monk is keen to get him off the wage bill.

A long mooted transfer to Leeds appeared to be off once the Whites signed Jamal Blackman but an injury to the on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper might have reopened the door to Stockdale.

Big boost

Jacques Maghoma has resumed Birmingham City training ahead of the Second City derby.

The DR Congo international hasn’t played since injuring his ankle in Blues’ 2-1 win over Reading four weeks ago. Monk’s other injury concern is Spanish winger Jota who picked up a hip problem in the recent 3-3 draw with Hull City.

Maghoma has, however, taken to social media to inform his Instagram following that he’s back on the grass at Blues’ Wast Hills training ground in a bid to make the derby.
