Birmingham City make the trip north to Ewood Park this weekend to tackle Blackburn Rovers as they look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat at home to Bristol City last time out.

Blues drew here on their last venture to the home of Rovers, a 1-1 stalemate under Gianfranco Zola in which Lukas Jutkiewicz netted an early penalty.

Blues, of course, survived relegation come the end of the campaign at the expense of Blackburn after Harry Redknapp led them to successive wins over Huddersfield and Bristol City.

Times have changed, with both sides in the top half of the Championship table and looking upwards.

Our football desk, as well as Sky Sports pundit David Prutton, have here offered our predictions for the encounter.

STEVE WOLLASTON

Blackburn go with the form books when it comes to playing at home, they are a tough team to negotiate.

On their travels recently they have shipped in goals left, right and centre. They are a dangerous side and have flair within their side from the likes of Bradley Dack.

They will be looking to get three points against Blues but will be very wary of the solid and consistent graft of this Blues team under Garry Monk. I don’t see a Blues win, if I’m honest I don’t even see a goal. Maybe from a set-piece, the draw is a good bet here.

Prediction: Blackburn 0 Blues 0

KIERAN DOODY

Both sides have drawn too many times this season when they should have been taking all three points.

If this was at St Andrew’s I’d expect Blues to be back to winning ways at home but playing at Ewood Park will be a different kind of test for Garry Monk’s Blues.

Both sides have recorded nine draws this season and both sit on 30 points, they’re inseparable in the table and they’ll be inseparable on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction: Blackburn 1 Blues 1

MAT KENDRICK

Last weekend’s home defeat to Bristol City hurt Blues - but the injury to Michael Morrison could hurt them more.

I think they will find it difficult to keep Bradley Dack and Co quiet throughout the game, but equally Lukas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams will pose a big threat to the Rovers defence.

Only goal difference separates them in the Championship table, so I’m expecting a fairly close encounter.

Prediction: Blackburn 1 Blues 1

Birmingham City v Preston North End

PAUL SUART

Only Blues have drawn more home matches this season than Blackburn.

Blackburn’s nagging failure to finish teams off on home soil and Blues’ determination to bounce back from the Bristol defeat all add to the same thing.

Prediction: Blackburn 1 Blues 1

JOSEPH CHAPMAN

Blues have had a terrific run of late, and I did expect them to ease past Bristol City last weekend having dismantled Preston with such distinction the weekend previous.

Blackburn, though, are formidable at home - they’ve lost just once there this season - and in Bradley Dack they’ve got one of the best players in the division.

Regrettably, I’ll have to back a narrow home win, but I’ll be equally delighted if Blues can serve me up some humble pie.

Prove me wrong, Blues!

Prediction: Blackburn 2 Blues 1
