Tyrone Mings has thanked Aston Villa's fans for their support and says he will continue to 'leave everything out on the pitch'.

The on-loan Bournemouth defender has been a revelation since making the switch to Villa Park in January and has been an ever-present at centre-back under Dean Smith.

Mings has become a key man at the back for the claret and blues during a run of six straight wins which has propelled them into promotion contention.

And Mings' good performances have led to immense popularity on the terraces with fans desperate for the 26-year-old to join permanently.

"I am someone who leaves everything out on the pitch," Mings told avfc.co.uk about his relationship with the fans.

"That’s what I strive to do in every game and I think the fans appreciate that.

"Fans want to see players give their all for the team. That’s what I do.

"I feel like I’ve built up a really good rapport with the supporters here. They have been great with me.

"They’re fantastic at home. They’re terrific away. Thank you to all of them."

Promotion will play a big part in determining Mings' future. If Villa are promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs they'll look to snap him up but failure to reach the promised land will make it tough.

"It feels perfect," Mings added. “I said when I first signed here that I felt myself and the club were at similar stages, in terms of wanting to getting back to where we both feel we should be.

“For us to both help each other achieve that, I think, is important.

“Now I have come here, seen the facilities, interacted with the players, worked with the coaches, bonded with the fans, I feel I’ve definitely made the right choice.”
