Two years after being released by Birmingham City , Reece Brown is being linked with a return to the Championship.

Sky Sports News reported on Wednesday that Bristol City and Reading are among a number of Championship clubs interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder .

Brown has spent the last couple of years at Forest Green Rovers and this season has scored ten goals and contributed 14 assists to a team that is currently in the League Two play-offs.

He was recently named the division’s Player of the Month for March after scoring five times.

Brown’s talent was never in doubt at Blues, neither was the fact he’d come good somewhere else.

But with his contract up in the summer, we asked Blues fans if they’d like to see the former Wast Hills trainee back at the club.

The response was -almost - unanimous.

Martin Slater: Maybe the best thing happening to him was being released by us as he by the sounds of it has realised what it takes to be a professional footballer and is working his way back up the ladder, hope he succeeds as there was definitely a good player in there, just needed a different scenery and wake up call. Ravel Morrison is another, wasted his talent, hopefully Reece can get up the leagues and show why lee Clark was thinking so highly of him. But yeah next season watch him score a goal and create one against us

Alan Martin: Another lost talent..

Thomas Hatton: He will play at the top level. Get him back Blues.

Adam Dwyer: Reece brown talented but I don’t think his heart and head was in the right place when with us

Luke Vaughan: Bet he scores against us

@alexjhurley: The fact he played for us before is irrelevant. The question is “is he best available in our budget?” Not saying he isn’t but chances are there are better alternatives. He’s had 10 good games in lge 2 - that does NOT make him the solution to our long-standing midfield problem!

@scottybish23: Without question Brian! Good age, loves the club, point to prove. Always had the ability now has the attitude to go with it. One of our own..

@joanzblue: Yes looks a great prospect !!

@KrisGozra: I’d have him back, he’s clearly realised you need attitude to go with talent

@_chris96bcfc: Step too far too soon

@ChrisCOB_OB: May have been what he needed. More grounded, more football league  regular football and in-form.  I’d take a punt for free...

@alexj147: Yes we should definitely have him back, hopefully he’d want to come too...

@KieranBcfc89: Had a bad attitude so there was a reason he was let go.... If he’s changed that then fair play, he’s a good player. Monk wouldn’t let anyone In our squad with an attitude so I’m sure he’d check on that If he was to bring him back

@shleebanger: Yes i ******* would @Brown29_ come home

@LadFromTheBlues: Yes yes yes

@james_niblett: Shouldn’t have been allowed to go in the first place

@latchford_bob: Been saying it for months. Bring him home

@_chancey_: 100% I would, we shouldn’t of got rid but he needed to play & mature. Always rated him highly
