It's rowdy, it's lots of fun... and it's recruiting.

A new Coyote Ugly Saloons bar is coming to Birmingham this summer and staff are needed.

The western/rock-themed bar that "celebrates the wild side of American culture along with female empowerment" is finally coming to Birmingham.

And it needs plenty of girl power and personality to get the party started.

Where will the new bar be?

Although a date is yet to be finalised, Coyote Ugly is heading for a summer opening on Broad Street at the venue known currently as Mooch Bar, at 260 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2HF.

Steve Lewis - who currently has the franchise rights in the UK and opened the company's first UK bar in Cardiff in December of 2016 followed by Liverpool, Swansea and Manchester - said: "Customers have been travelling to our locations from all over the UK, Ireland and throughout Europe.

"Many patrons have been disappointed on not being able to book tables or booths as many key dates sell out weeks or months in advance.

"The perfect answer to this problem is to expand and open other venues throughout the UK."

He added: "We have a tremendous team here in the UK and abroad, we’re like one big family and could not have expanded as much as we have without them and we look forward to expanding the team with the addition of the Birmingham venue.

"We are extremely pleased to announce this fifth UK venue, the support we have received from the public has been overwhelming."

"Birmingham is such a vibrant city, with an amazing nightlife scene and we cannot wait to add to it.

"I absolutely love Birmingham and have enjoyed every visit whilst scouting for sites across the UK.

"We will have live sports, great food and an outstanding and fresh nightlife offering.  I truly believe that the Birmingham venue will become the flagship venue and the best one in the UK so far.

"We will start taking party bookings very shortly."

Coyote Ugly now operates in 27 locations in seven countries including Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Japan and  the USA.

How did it all start?

In 1992, Liliana 'Lil' Lovell, a 24-year-old Wall Street apprentice-turned-bartender was doing a job she loved, making money, and gaining notoriety for her antics on the bar as well as behind it.

Tired of working for other people, she was ready to make her move.

The plan was simple: open her own bar, make money, and have fun doing it.

The little bar in New York City drew Hollywood’s attention with its loud music, hard liquor and female bartenders’ dance routines on top of the bar.

The wild experience inspired the blockbuster 2000 film, starring Tyra Banks and John Goodman.

Liliana Lovell plans on flying into Birmingham to hold the open auditions for the new team members who she wants to be "the life and soul of the party."

Applications for the Coyote Search recruitment event are now open at coyoteuglysaloon.com/jobs with the Coyote Search event being held  over two days.

The site says: "Become a world famous Coyote! If you’re a dancer, singer, rockstar bartender, life of the party or all around killer entertainer, this is the job for you!

"No experience necessary, we will train the right applicants. Opportunities to travel and be a Coyote Calendar Girl."

Communications director Sean McMahon said: "Those interested in joining the Coyote family can now apply online.

"We will then be sending invites to the Coyote Search event where applications will be asked about themselves, their skills and passions, any relevant experience.

"Those applying for the Coyote role will be asked to dance and/or sing as part of the audition process.

"It’s a lot of fun and we encourage everyone to have fun and give it their best.  Whilst experience is an advantage, it’s not a necessity as full training is given.

"We’re quite proud of our training programme which includes everything from health and safety to bar training, mental health awareness to dance lessons."

He told Birmingham Live: "It's all about personality.

"We get some people asking if they can apply if they are plus-size and we say: Yes! Bring your personality, that's what it's all about. It's about empowering women."

The new bar needs Coyote bartenders, bar backs, chefs, waiting staff, a general manager, duty managers and other roles, he said.

Around 50 new jobs will be created in the city by the venture.

The dates of the Coyote Search recruitment days and the bar's public launch are yet to be announced.
