Dave & Buster's opened its fourth Houston-area location in Sam Moon Group's new mixed-use development.

Dave & Buster’s opened its fourth Houston-area location Jan. 20.

The eatertainment chain mixes video games, dining and a bar menu. Its new location, at 8915 Metropark Drive in Shenandoah, is over 40,000 square feet.

Dave & Buster’s is an anchor tenant at Metropark Square, a Sam Moon Group mixed-used development. The first anchor tenant to open in the development was AMC Metropark Square 10, the first new-build AMC location to open in the Houston area in more than 20 years.

Other tenants at the development will include salons, Asian restaurants, a diner, a dentist, an outpost of a burger chain and a candy and ice cream store.

Also in the works for the development are a Hyatt Hotelwhich began construction in May, and a multifamily development, along with a garage.

Sam Moon Group, best known for its retail spaces, have been developing commercial real estate since the late 1990s. As the company expanded its retail business, it developed its own shopping centers. The company developed shopping centers in its native Dallas, Frisco and Fort Worth as well as the center that sits adjacent to Metropark Square.

As some traditional retail struggles, entertainment is booming, Daniel Moon, vice president and general counsel of Sam Moon Group, said previously. AMC and Dave & Buster’s are hugely successful in their respective fields of movie theaters and gaming entertainment, so for Moon it was a natural choice to bring them aboard. Steve Greenberg of The Retail Connection helped facilitate the deal with AMC and Dave & Buster’s.

Dave & Buster’s hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
