Landlady Rebecca Jackson led more than 20 walkers from Blackpool Tower during Saturday (16 February) to finish at the pub.

She said: “Sadie has cervical cancer and she’s getting married during Sunday.

“We felt we wanted to do more than just having a collection behind the bar.

“So we got our trainers and t-shirts on and did the walk.

“Sadie is just so strong and I’m amazed by her strength and determination.

“We’re so happy we completed the walk and I’m really glad we’ve been able to raise this money to help Sadie and her family, just before her wedding day too.

“Thanks to my wife Natalia, as well as Elly and Aimie, who kept us motivated and drove to us with refreshments.

“We got a great reception when we arrived back at the pub and it’s like one big family.”

The pub has raised £1,274.63 so far but says the total will rise as more sponsorship forms are returned.
