Further proposals for flats planned for Glovers Court are due to be tabled.

The now empty Browns nightclub could soon become two new offices on the ground floor of a new flats development.

Munshi and Partners have tabled amended plans on behalf of TSS Properties for converting Buckingham House into 24-apartments.

Director Mohammed Munshi told Blog Preston: “Our clients TSS want to change the facade of the building and also put in a new application to change the use of the ground floor of Buckingham House from a nightclub to two spacious offices.

“It will transform a strategically placed city centre site into an attractive, sustainable, vibrant and efficiently used environment.

“Buckingham House will add to the vitality and viability of the future development in the area.

“TSS wants the site to provide high quality, contemporary apartments that meet the need for affordable residential accommodation within the city centre.

“This modified design helps meet that aspiration and highlights the scope for futher mixed-use development to support the regeneration of Preston city centre.”

Work has already started on fitting out inside Buckingham House after planning approval was won to convert the former offices into flats.

The amended scheme shows how the former office block would have LED lighting added to the exterior of the building.

Glovers Court has seen a number of redevelopment projects in recent years, including TSS’ work on converting the former Booths headquarters, above Waterstone’s into apartments, as well as Soap Media moving into a former run down printers building.

A full planning application for the amended Buckingham House scheme is due in the next fortnight.
