1. Blast From the Past: The Cumberland County Council on Older Adults will hold its annual Blast From the Past fundraiser and recognize senior volunteers in the community on May 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Bordeaux Convention Center. Proceeds will help the agency expand free services to seniors. Tickets are $60 per person and include dinner, DJ, dancing, 50/50 raffle and photo booth. 2. Agricultural Hall of Fame: Nominations are being accepted for candidates to be inducted into the Cumberland County Agricultural Hall of Fame for 2019. The hall honors county residents who have made significant contributions to agriculture, home economics, youth development or rural communities. Nomination forms are available online at cumberland.ces.ncsu.edu or by calling 910-321-6405. The deadline to submit a nomination is 5 p.m. June 30. Nominations may be mailed to the Cumberland County Center, North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Charlie Rose Agri-Expo Center, 301 E. Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, N.C. 28306, faxed to 910-321-6883 or emailed to Cooperative Extension Director Lisa Childers at lisa_childers@ncsu.edu.

3. Air show: The 2019 Wings Over Wayne air show featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds is scheduled for April 27-28 at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro. The biennial air show also will include Air Force F-35A and C-17 demonstrations, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Parachute Team — the Black Daggers — and static displays of recent and vintage aircraft.
