Henderson County eighth-graders visit ag sites for STEAM field trip

Eighth-grade students from Henderson County middle schools learned about agriculture during a program Monday. 

Organized by representatives from the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Advisory Council, the 2019 Eighth-grade Science, Technology and Engineering Agriculture Field Trip introduced around 400 eighth-graders from four schools to agriculture in the county.

Students visited North River Farms, the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center, Blue Ridge Community College and McConnell Farms.

Students from Flat Rock, Rugby, Apple Valley and Hendersonville middle schools participated in the program.
