Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen could miss time with hip pointer

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

During the Los Angeles Chargers epic 29-28 comeback victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night in Arrowhead, wide receiver Keenan Allen left the game after suffering a hip injury on what was nearly a spectacular touchdown reception. Allen went up for a pass from Philip Rivers and came down hard on his hip. He went into the tent and ultimately was unable to return.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports via Twitter that the injury is a hip pointer:

Normally, a hip pointer takes 1 to 3 weeks to fully recover, so Allen has an opportunity to return in time for the playoffs. They will certainly need him if they are to make a deep run in the postseason. He currently leads the team in catches with 88 and yards with 1,074, and he is second on the club in receiving touchdowns with 6.
