Call it Beyond, call it Impossible: By now, faux meat has reached a level of ubiquity that transcends vegetarian restaurants, making its way to fast food joints and grocery store freezers. Two of the industry’s most popular iterations — Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods — have been growing their footprints in Boston for the past couple of years, but next week, Beyond Meat is joining forces with a beloved New England brand: Dunkin’.

On Nov. 6, Dunkin’ customers will be able to find a Beyond Sausage Sandwich at 9,000 participating stores across the country, including throughout the Greater Boston area. This comes after a successful July launch of the sandwich in Manhattan, where the item debuted at 163 locations and, according to the Boston Globe, became its No. 2 selling sandwich.

The Beyond Sausage Sandwich uses a patty featuring Beyond’s plant-based protein and a bespoke blend of spices made for Dunkin’, which is served on an English muffin with egg and American cheese. It is decidedly healthier than Dunkin’s regular sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin, boasting less fat, calories, cholesterol, and sodium.

But does it taste good?

Dunkin’ is giving you a chance to try the sandwich for free on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 from 8 a.m.–10 a.m. with a complimentary sample at participating stores while supplies last.

“We are extremely proud of our partnership with Beyond Meat and thrilled to be the first U.S. quick service restaurant to offer Beyond Breakfast Sausage nationwide,” Dave Hoffmann, Dunkin’ Brands chief executive officer and Dunkin’ U.S. president, said in a press release. “Dunkin’ is the brand that democratizes trends for America, and this latest addition to our menu gives consumers more choice to meet their evolving needs. As we continue to transform our brand, we’re proud to use our platform to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the great taste and benefits of plant-based protein.”
