Rhode Island man charged with sexually abusing dog
Officials say the dog has been placed with a foster family and is doing "very well."
LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man has been charged with sexual abuse of a dog.
Lincoln police and the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals say 38-year-old Michael Woodhead is charged with felony abominable and detestable crime against nature and misdemeanor unnecessary cruelty to animals.

Both organizations started investigating the Lincoln man after receiving a complaint in February regarding the female dog. Police say during a search of his home at the time they made some “disturbing observations.”
Woodhead was released on personal recognizance after a court appearance Wednesday. His attorney, Neal Steingold, tells The Providence Journal his client denies the charges and there is “another side to this story.”
The RISPCS says the dog has been placed with a foster family and is doing “very well.”
