Boston police arrested a man Tuesday for the murder of 25-year-old Hamsa Warsame of Medford, who was killed in October.
“The man responsible for his death is behind bars,” police said in a statement.
James Nelson, 26, of Boston, is accused of shooting Warsame around 4 a.m. on Oct. 26 on Westminster Avenue in Roxbury.
The Boston Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Team, Brockton police, and state police arrested Nelson around 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release.
Police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds on Oct. 26 and took them to the hospital, the release said. A woman, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was later found nearby.
One man and the woman lived, police said, but Warsame died of his injuries at the hospital.
Nelson was charged with murder and was expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court. Police did not indicate whether he is suspected of or being charged with shooting the other two individuals.
