Vigils and demonstrations were taking place in Boston on Sunday following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The events were being held at Boston Police Headquarters, at City Hall, and at the Massachusetts State House.

The protests also took a violent turn after the sun went down, as demonstrators pelted police with bottles and cans, torched a police cruiser, damaged vehicles, and looted stores throughout Downtown Crossing and the Back Bay.
