Icy road conditions on Interstate 91 in West Springfield caused several crashes Thursday afternoon, including one in which a tractor-trailer jackknifed, officials said.
State Police took to twitter to warn drivers to use caution in the area due to “significant icing” on the northbound side of the highway between Exits 13 and 14.

The right travel lane and the breakdown lane were shut down in the area of Exit 14 due to a tractor-trailer that had jackknifed. There were “numerous crashes” in the area, police said.
The state Department of Transportation was treating the roadways, police said.
