Man’s body recovered from Springfield lake

Authorities recovered a man’s body from a lake in Springfield Sunday morning, a fire official said.

The man, who was not identified, was found floating in Porter Lake in Forest Park at 9:10 a.m., said Dennis Leger, a spokesman for Springfield Fire Department, in a statement.

The body was found by a parks employee, Springfield police spokesman Ryan Walsh said on Twitter.

The incident does not appear suspicious, Walsh said. An autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner.

The incident is under investigation, Walsh said.

No further information was immediately available.
