Authorities recovered a man’s body from a lake in Springfield Sunday morning, a fire official said.
The man, who was not identified, was found floating in Porter Lake in Forest Park at 9:10 a.m., said Dennis Leger, a spokesman for Springfield Fire Department, in a statement.
The body was found by a parks employee, Springfield police spokesman Ryan Walsh said on Twitter.
The incident does not appear suspicious, Walsh said. An autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner.
The incident is under investigation, Walsh said.
The circumstances do not appear to be suspicious. The SPD Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Acting Deputy Chief Trent Duda is investigating pending the results of the autopsy. (2/2)
