A New Jersey man was charged Saturday with biting a trooper during an alleged drunken dust-up at Jay Peak Resort in Vermont.

Daniel Syzdek, 22, of Union, N.J., was ordered to appear in an Orleans, Vt. courtroom Monday afternoon to answer to charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault on law enforcement.

Troopers responded to Jay Peak Saturday night just after 6 p.m. for what they said was a report of an “unruly intoxicated male.”

Police, after meeting with the ski resort’s security, determined Syzdek should be placed in protective custody “due to his high level of intoxication and aggressiveness towards those at the resort.”

Syzdek bit one trooper while being taken into custody and later kicked another at the barracks, police said.
