GOOD AS HIM: Country music star Kane Brown performed a private show in the Seaport Thursday night. The singer, who’s best known for his twangy hits like “Heaven” and “Lose It,” took the stage at The Grand to croon for a crowd of eager fans. Among the songs he and his band played throughout the evening were covers of Nelly’s “Ride with Me” and Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself.” But his set also included several of his originals, like his latest smash single “Lost in the Middle of Nowhere.” Becky G, who’s featured on the track, wasn’t in town this time around, so Kane invited his wife, Katelyn Jae, onto the stage to perform the female portion of the duet, which made the audience go wild.

A WHALE OF A TIME: Russell Hornsby was spotted double-dipping at Ocean Prime. The actor, who’s known for his role in the critically-acclaimed drama “The Hate U Give,” was first seen schmoozing at Ocean Prime New York during an industry event late last week — only to later sit down to a family dinner at our very own Ocean Prime Boston this past weekend. In terms of Hornsby’s visit to the restaurant’s Seaport spot, we’re told that he and his relatives enjoyed a multicourse meal, spending a few hours in the lounge area. The party, which included the actor’s parents, apparently shared a massive spread that consisted of the surf ‘n’ turf and jumbo lump crab cake appetizers, tomahawk steak special, Chilean sea bass with champagne truffle sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, truffle mac ‘n’ cheese, roasted Brussels sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower. We hear the table also sipped on a selection of adult beverages, including Macallan 18 whiskey served neat and Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon, and ended their feast with an assortment of sweets like warm butter cake, creme brulee and chocolate cake. The local dinner served as some much needed down time for Hornsby, who’s been making the rounds promoting his new Fox series “Proven Innocent.”
