A TEENAGER has been slashed in the hand with glass after a fight broke out onboard a train.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday, February 23.

A 15-year-old boy was given first aid after sustaining injuries to his hand during a fight on a train at Bracknell Railway Station.

A 21-year-old man from Bracknell was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers from Thames Valley Police and the British Transport Police (BTP) attended the scene after reports were made of the ordeal.

A BTP spokesman said: "Shortly after 6.30pm on February 23, officers from British Transport Police were called to Bracknell station after reports of a serious assault on board a train. "Police and paramedics were quickly on scene, a 15-year old man was treated for a slash injury to his believed to have been caused by glass.

"He was taken to hospital for further treatment and was later discharged.

"The assault happened on board the 6.12pm service travelling between Reading and London Waterloo.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the British Transport Police by sending a text on 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 510 of 23/02/2019."
