RESIDENTS at a care home in Wokingham have been turning into detectives to solve a murder mystery.

The ‘who dunnit’ event was held at The Berkshire Care Home on Wednesday, February 27.

Residents watched an old style cine-film, which was called Hitchcock’s The 39 steps. During the showing of the film residents had to pick up several clues, which they used to solve the mystery.

The film was split into four sections, which allowed time for the riddles to be solved.

Blerina Cuka, activities coordinator at The Berkshire Care Home, said: Everyone had a wonderful time with the residents so focused and eager to participate.

"The cine-film was a great path into beautiful memories from their past and solving the clues kept them working the little grey cells. It’s moments like this that remind me of the importance of the work we do with activities and we are very lucky to collaborate with people like Adrian as part of our events.”

The event was organised by the home’s activities team as well as film enthusiast Adrian Smith, who is from Movietime GB.

Staff members got into character by dressing up in fancy dress.

The Berkshire Care Home is run by care provider Brighterkind and is one of their 70 homes across the UK.
