The Milwaukee Brewers dropped game two of a four-game series to the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park in an 11-7 loss. The Brew Crew is now on a five-game losing streak and has only won two of its last ten.
Chase Anderson was the losing pitcher of this contest, doing little to keep his team close. For the second day in a row, the Brewers starter loaded the bases and walked in a run in the first. Cincy would score three in that inning. Add on a Jose Peraza two-RBI triple in the third and Anderson left Milwaukee in an early 5-0 hole.
Unlike last night, the offense actually showed up to this game. Eric Thames got the scoring going with an RBI single in the third. Christian Yelich hit his 29th homer of the season and was followed by a Mike Moustakas homer to bring the Crew within two.
With this homer, @ChristianYelich matched Prince Fielder for the most home runs before the All-Star break... with 15 games left to play. #ThisIsMyCrew pic.twitter.com/AFICUNJQcJ

Despite the team showing up, the Milwaukee pen could not keep the game within reach. Corbin Burnes replaced Junior Guerra in the seventh with the bases loaded and two outs. Burnes walked his first batter and allowed a soft single to Kyle Farmer that scored two more, making it 9-4.
It wouldn’t be a Burnes appearance without a homer. Craig Counsell left Corbin in for the 8th inning and he allowed a two-run BOMB to Yasiel Puig, putting the Crew in an 11-4 hole it was certainly not coming out of.
The offense tried to bring the game back in the bottom of the 8th. Orlando Arcia hit his 9th homer of the year to get the scoring started. Yelich would double to drive home Hernan Perez, and Thames would take a bases-loaded walk for the Crew. That would bring it within 11-7, but the offense had nothing else to offer. Cincy finished off the game and locked up the win.
The Milwaukee Nine will hope to finally get back to winning Saturday. Reds ace Luis Castillo (7-1, 2.26 ERA) will take on the resurgent Jhoulys Chacin (3-8, 5.60 ERA). First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m. at Miller Park.
