Click It Local has an ethos to enable local shops to be able to compete with the likes of Amazon on convenience and choice in a mission to save the local high street and help support the Brighton community.

And the service has already proved popular with local retailers as almost 20 Brighton businesses and independents have already signed up to the platform.

Click It Local founder Steven Koch says, “The past decade has been a tricky time for local shops, with many struggling to stay afloat due to competition from bigger online businesses. With the added, sudden challenge of Covid-19, many independent shops in Brighton have been badly hit.

I love shopping locally, so I wanted to find a way to offer the local high street virtually to its community in one place online, as well as help small shops offer the same level of speed and convenience that today’s online customers have come to expect.”

The service has already proved popular since its launch in Cambridge earlier this month and will be expanding to Brighton, as well as London and Edinburgh later this summer.

The app will follow next month but customers can start ordering now.

Small businesses already on board include Brighton Pier beer, Bison beer, The Great British Charcuterie, Hi Cacti, Old Tree Brewery, She Said Boutique.

Steven runs a London-based digital retail agency headquartered in London, so he’s familiar with how an eCommerce trading platform works. The service will operate in and around Brighton.

The cost is a flat rate of £3 if you order from one retailer, but you can order from multiple retailers on the site, and each extra retailer adds £1 to the cost of the delivery.

Steven is calling for local shops to sign up and for the Brighton community to support their local stores.

“Through Click It Local, communities are rediscovering their local high street and it’s amazing to be able to recreate the individuality of Brighton through the virtual high street. Our aim is to ensure we can all continue to shop local, support independent shops and provide for the local community” Says Steven
