A gardening mishap has landed Home Under the Hammer host Martin Roberts in A&E just days after he appeared in court .

The TV host issued a "really important" warning to his followers on Twitter after sap ended up in his eyes

Posting a video from a hospital waiting room, he told his fans: "Not been a good week, all in all."

The 56-year-old was recently at Bristol Crown Court to appeal a drink driving conviction.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in November last year.

Roberts maintains the breathalyzer reading could have been contaminated by his asthma inhaler.

After the appeal was dismissed last Friday (August 16), he told Bristol Live : "This is a bad day for me. But it is also a terrible day for asthma sufferers."

Now Roberts' bad week has continued after sap from a plant in his garden caused "some serious issues".

Addressing the camera directly, he warned his followers on Twitter to be wary of a plant named Euphorbia.

"This is a really important warning," he said. "It's 3.30am in the morning and I'm in A&E.

"I was doing some gardening earlier on and there's a plant called Euphorbia.

"When you cut it as I did, it produces a sap and if you get it on your hands or worse on your eyes, it causes some serious issues.

"It started to sting and it's got worse and worse as the evening has gone on."

He added the stinging prevented him from sleeping that night and urged followers to wear goggles while dealing with the plant.
