This is the latest update from Bristol Water on its website:

We’ve just sent a text or voicemail to all affected properties, however some properties nearby will notice their water is a bit discoloured.

If you’ve noticed your water is brown or yellow then just run your cold kitchen tap for around half an hour and they’ll clear.

Latest update

In the latest update on its website, Bristol Water said crews have found a crack around the main and will have it fixed in a “couple of hours”:

The crew have exposed the main and discovered a crack around the main. They are currently trying to reduce the pressure in the main whilst still keeping as many people in water as possible.

When this happens you are more likely to have no water if you live on higher ground.

It will take a couple of hours to fix and recharge (increase the pressure again) before water will return.
