Three men were fined almost £3,000 last week for soliciting sexual services in Eastville.

Suleiman Abdullah, Neil Dudden and Gorge Ivanov were convicted in Bristol Magistrates' Court of trying to obtain the services of a sex worker in public places.

Abdullah, of Fishponds Road, committed the offence in Bay Gardens on November 21 last year.

The 27-year-old failed to appear in court but was found guilty in his absence on August 7.

He was ordered to pay a £660 fine, a £66 victim surcharge and £85 in prosecution costs - a total of £811.

Dudden, from Calne in Wiltshire, went to Caraway Gardens and attempted to solicit sexual services on February 25.

Like Abdullah, 68-year-old Dudden failed to appear in court on August 7, was found guilty and ordered to pay £811.

Gorge Ivanov, of Gilbert Road in Redfield, committed the same offence in Fishponds Road on December 13 last year.

The 28-year-old did not turn up for his court date on August 8. The charge was proven in his absence and he was ordered to pay £1,104.

That breaks down to a £440 fine, a £44 victim surcharge and prosecution costs of £620.

The three defendants must pay a total of £2,726.
